Bulls Head and Watermans Arms

Barnes Bulls Head

The pub's origins date back to the 17th century, with the current building constructed in 1846 after being purchased by what would become Young’s Brewery in 1831. It began as a jazz venue in 1959 under the management of Albert Tolley, quickly establishing itself as a key spot for both UK and international jazz musicians throughout the 1960s.

In 1982, Dan Flemming took over and expanded the venue's offerings to include blues and rock acts. Its significance in the music scene was highlighted in Martin Scorsese’s "History of the Blues." The music room was refurbished in 2006, sponsored by Yamaha, and was subsequently renamed "The Yamaha Room."

In July 2013, the Bull’s Head was sold to a subsidiary of Youngs & Co. Over the years, the venue has hosted numerous notable musicians, including Ronnie Scott, Blossom Dearie, Mick Jagger, and Ronnie Wood.
