Scotts and Paypal - Richmond

Nowadays, Richmond Riverside is a bustling hub of activity. Pubs, restaurants, boats, cycles, music and crafts all make use of this open public space. On a summer evening and weekend the Riverside is buzzing. There’s even a beloved Caribbean fruit juice vendor – a local gem.

In this once-neglected stretch by the river, a remarkable transformation unfolded. Richmond Riverside’s resurgence restored its physical grandeur and breathed vitality into its heart, proving that even the most faded corners can be reinvigorated with a touch of vision and dedication.

Part of the former Castle Hotel, now occupied by PayPal. The facade has undergone many face lifts in its history.

The extension, that is now Scotts restaurant was added sometime in the 1890’s and was Harry’s Bar in 2002 when the bar was threatened with closure due to “rowdiness” of people attending the disco there. It opened as Cocktails & Kitchen in 2014 and later became a Revolution Bar.
